It truly means so much that you stopped by Charcutalee. Your support means the world to me because this small business was born out of homesickness.
People often ask, “Why charcuterie?” The short answer is this: I moved out of state during the pandemic and found myself feeling incredibly helpless, stuck, and deeply homesick amongst a toxic, and emotionally abusive relationship.
Just a few months before I moved, my friends threw me a goodbye party in California. My friend Raylene put together a simple cheese board for us to share — toasted baguettes and a few cheeses. It wasn’t elaborate, but I still remember how satisfying the simple pairing tasted and, more importantly, how enamoring it felt to gather around food with the people I love!
That memory stayed with me. When I moved to Hawaii, I found myself wanting to recreate that feeling of comfort and connection. I began making cheese boards at home, sharing them, and slowly rediscovering joy and self-worth in the process.
In December 2023, Charcutalee was born — built from a longing for home, connection, and the simple magic of sharing yummy cheeses with good people. I can't wait to create something delish for you!
